T-Mobile
International , a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche
Telekom was established in December 1999. Overtime, it has established
itself as one of the largest international mobile communications
carriers. It is first to operate a trans-atlantic mobile network based
on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), the world's most
successful digital wireless standard. T-Mobile was among the first
operators worldwide to use future oriented technologies like GPRS,
WLAN, 3G etc.
T-Mobile has 99 million subscribers making it the world's
fifth largest mobile phone service provider. T-Mobile international has
substantial presence in 9 European countries ( Austria , Croatia ,
Czech Republic , Germany , Hungary , Netherlands , Slovakia , Great
Britain , Poland and United States )
T-Mobile is the sponsor of several
sports events. It sponsors its own cycling team, the T-Mobile team, and
the Austrian first division football competition, the T-mobile
Bundesliga. It was also the official global mobile phone carrier for
the 2006 FIFA world cup football.
T-Mobile is a partner of FREEMOVE , an alliance
formed by four of Europe 's leading mobile phone companies- Orange ,
TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile), T-Mobile and Telefonica Moviles- to help
their customers communicate easily while traveling abroad.
T-Mobile offers following price
plans for its customers:
FLEXT:
T-Mobile launched its Flext tariff structure in
February, 2006. It is designed to give more flexibility to mobile phone
users with mobile phone contracts.
Typically mobile phone contracts have a pre-set volume of text and
voice minutes which a customer receives at the beginning of the
contract and is charged when those limits are breached.
Flext allows T-Mobile users to choose and mix-n-match different
combinations of voice minutes, text messages, picture messages and
voice mails which they receive as part of their contract. In this
T-Mobile users receive an allowance (roughly 3 times as much as monthly
rate) that you may use for any combination of minutes, texts and
voicemail.
Flext plans range between £20 which offers an allowance of
£34 to £75 with an allowance of £390 per
month.
T-Mobile also offers U-Fix which is a hybrid between
Pay As You Go plans and
Pay Monthly plans. The plan begins with a pre-set amount of
minutes and texts. If you want to spend more than your monthly
allowance then you can top-up with U-Fix cards. This allows
customer to closely monitor his spending.
